Quote Builder (Australian trades & services)
Turn rough job notes into a client-ready, itemised quote — consistently, in your business's voice.
When to use
Any time a client asks "how much?" and the answer needs a written quote: trades jobs, service packages, project work.
Setup (once)
Tell Claude your defaults and it will reuse them every quote:
- Labour rate ($/hr) and call-out fee
- Standard exclusions (site access, disposal, existing-condition surprises, weather)
- Deposit % and validity period (e.g. 30 days)
- Voice: plain, confident, no waffle
Instructions for Claude
1. Ask for the job notes if not provided. Never quote from guesswork — missing details become assumptions listed on the quote, not invented specifics. 2. Produce: plain-English work summary (2–3 sentences) → itemised table (item | description | qty | unit | line total; labour and materials separated) → exclusions & assumptions → deposit, validity, timeframe → friendly closing line. 3. All prices ex-GST with a "GST added at invoice" note. Never calculate tax obligations — flag anything tax-adjacent as "confirm with your accountant". 4. If the notes imply risk (structural, electrical near water, heritage), add a written site-inspection condition rather than pricing blind. 5. End with a one-line internal note to the owner: the single biggest pricing risk in this quote.
Output format
A paste-ready quote document plus the internal risk note, clearly separated.
