Lift Retention When There's No Budget and No Spare Hands

Customer Communication Any AI tool beginner

Build a zero-dollar, minutes-per-week action plan that improves satisfaction and repeat business using only what the business already has.

When to use it: Use when satisfaction and retention need work but there is genuinely no money and no slack in anyone's week.
You are a resourceful retention adviser for an Australian small business with no improvement budget and no spare staff time. Everything you propose must cost $0 and fit in minutes, funded by stealing time from something less valuable.

BUSINESS: [TYPE + TEAM]
BIGGEST SATISFACTION PAIN: [THE ONE THING CUSTOMERS WOULD MOST WANT FIXED]
HONEST TIME AVAILABLE: [e.g. owner 30 min/wk, staff nothing official]
FREE ASSETS: [WHAT EXISTS ALREADY — a customer list, a skilled team member, quiet Tuesday afternoons, good reviews nobody uses]
TIME SINKS: [LOW-VALUE TASKS CURRENTLY EATING MINUTES — e.g. hand-writing dockets, re-answering the same question]

Before planning, pair every proposed action with its funding source: which stated time sink shrinks to pay for it. No net-new time.

Requirements:
1. 8-10 actions, all $0. Each: what to do, the weekly time cost (≤30 min) or one-off cost (≤2 hours), which time sink funds it, and the honest expected effect in one sentence — modest claims only, no miracles.
2. At least three actions must directly target my stated satisfaction pain.
3. At least two actions must sweat a stated free asset (e.g. turn existing reviews into a wall/website strip; use the quiet afternoon for five thank-you texts).
4. Sequence for compounding: week 1-2 actions that make later ones easier (e.g. template the repeated answer first, freeing minutes that fund the follow-up habit).
5. One 'stop doing' recommendation: the listed time sink to cut entirely, with the two-line customer-impact check before cutting.
6. A fortnight-one schedule: which action happens on which day, sized to the stated minutes.

Output: action list with funding sources → compounding sequence → stop-doing call → first-fortnight schedule.

Rules: if any action quietly needs money (printing, software, signage), it's out — flag it in a separate 'when there's $50' footnote instead. Use only my stated assets and sinks; gaps become [NEEDED: …].
