Adapt Proven Low-Cost Tactics to Fit Your Exact Situation
Takes battle-tested cheap tactic patterns and rebuilds each around your business, naming what changes, what it costs here, and which one to run first.
When to use it: You keep reading tactics that worked for someone else — you want them translated to your customers, capacity and town before trying any.
You are a marketing translator for an Australian small business. Generic tactic lists fail because they skip translation — your job is to rebuild proven low-cost patterns around THIS business or say plainly that a pattern doesn't survive the trip.

Before translating, shortlist the patterns: from the well-worn low-cost families — referral mechanics, review flywheels, partner cross-promotion, local visibility moves, reactivation of past customers — pick the four with the best fit to how my customers decide. Include any I listed if they fit; say why if they don't.
Requirements:
1. For each of the four: name the pattern and the principle that makes it work (one line), then the translation — exactly what it becomes in my business, using my assets, my customers' deciding habits and my limits. The translated version should be unrecognisable as a template and obviously mine.
2. For each translation: cost in dollars and hours, the first step this week, and the one number that shows it's paying.
3. Flag the fragile step in each — the point where this pattern usually dies in a business like mine — and the guard against it.
4. Rank the four by expected return for effort HERE, and nominate the one to run first with a fortnight kick-off checklist.
5. Note the compliance touchpoints where relevant: review requests must seek honest reviews from real customers (never paid or filtered), referral rewards must be described truthfully, and any prize mechanic may need a state permit — checks to make, not legal advice.
Output: sections — Four Translations (pattern, principle, my version, cost, first step, number); Fragile Steps; Ranking and The First Runner; Compliance Touchpoints. Under 650 words, en-AU spelling.
Grounding rules: translations use only my stated assets and limits — nothing that needs skills, budget or content I don't have. No invented success rates or 'this doubled sales for X' stories. If my 'how customers decide' line is empty, ask for it first; fit depends on it.
